The piano was Ryan’s first instrument when he was only two years old and he still uses it today in his teaching, composing, and even occasionally as a performance vehicle. He began, as many young children have, with the Suzuki method, and continued his studies as a child and adolescent with Allen Barker.
Resuming his keyboard studies in college and graduate school, Ryan has worked with Francis Brancaleone at Manhattanville College and Alexie Lewis at Brooklyn College.
