Playing the drum set began as an amusing diversion during breaks in rock band rehearsals in middle school, but it developed into a full-fledged secondary instrument for performance.
Ryan Parker studied Jazz and Afro-Cuban drum set with Steve Silverstein and Gary Fieldman at the Rivers School Conservatory during his high school years. In his graduate studies in Music Education at Brooklyn College, Ryan studied classical percussion teaching methods with Brian Willson.
